As you may be aware, we are in the middle of a drought in ALabama. I would like to plant some ground cover for next year. I had Asiatic Jasmine , potato vines or Portulaca (but I think that is an annual) in mind. My fear is that it will need lots of water. Would you suggest something that is hardy in full sun, somewhat drought tolerant and easy to maintain? When is the best time to plant the ground cover, fall or spring? Thank you for your help. |
Vic, You are correct that for portulaca is an annual plant. Asiatic Jasmine and potato vines are both fairly drought susceptible. Of the two I would go with the Jasmine. The following website will be helpful in choosing other great ground covers for Alabama: http://www.aces.edu/pubs/docs/... Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
