I have a hibiscus mallow; for one season it bloomed with beautiful large flowers. I think it may have died with the cool weather we have been having. It turned brown and I cut it all back to about 5 inches. Do you know if it will regenerate or does it sound like it is completely dead? The branches I cut off did not have green centers.

Your hibiscus will regenerate itself. My hibiscus usually gets killed back every winter and it comes back from the roots. It is best to wait until new growth starts before removing the dead branches.
