my hibiscus has outgrown 5 pots in 5 years getting ever bigger. this year it started to die even though it was in a giant pot! So i took a chance and put it in the ground. After about 6 weeks it came back and took off!! Now it is brilliant. I am in zone 5 how can i save my plant from dying this winter? It is now to big to dig up and bring inside. It has some thick wood on it's branches. can it be saved? It was a gift and I would be devastated to lose it. |
A tropical hibiscus won't survive outdoors during the winter months in your growing zone. You can dig and divide it, bringing in only a part of the plant, or you can try to take cuttings and root them for growing indoors this winter. Wish there were other options! |
