Is it possible to: 1) Cut the top to trim and keep it short as it grows tall in the pot? 2) Separate and plant it in the ground to let it spread? or it will grow and stay in just a skinny bunch if it is separated? |
| Your Angel's Hair will eventually develop a woody stem if it is left unpruned. The stem will be bare, with feathery foliage at the top. To avoid this, prune it back a few inches every 3-4 months to encourage fresh new growth. If you do this regularly, it will always have fresh foliage and you can control its size. If you decide to plant it in the ground, you can dig and divide it every 2-3 years. Each division will grow into a mound. Again, as long as you trim a few inches of foliage back every few months, it will always have fresh-looking leaves and will not develop a bare woody stem - at least not for many years.
