The Q&A Archives: What to plant in September - flowers

Question: for subdivision entrance sign. must grow 2' or less on full sun area. HELP. Thank You.

Answer: Susy,

Some options to consider include petunias, marigolds, and dwarf zinnias. Each of these will die out at the first frost to provide plenty of color for the next few months. After frost you can switch to flowers for winter such as pansies, viola, snapdragons, dianthus, ornamental cabbage or kale.
