Bulbs are reasonably cold hardy so you should be able to plant them in containers now and have them survive the winter months. Be sure to use potting soil rather than garden soil in your containers, and make sure the containers have lots of drainage holes in the bottom so the soil drains quickly.

Best wishes with your bulbs!
