I have a Japanese maple in a potted container. Grasshoppers have eaten the leaves. Do I still need to plant it? Is it too late? |
Susan, You can still plant your Japanese maple in the ground if you would like to. It may try to produce new leaves after the grasshopper defoliation. These leaves will fall when cool weather arrives but may help to plant a little until then. Next brain when new growth emerges provide the tree a light dose of fertilizer and moderate soil moisture to help it along. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
