Suggest plants for scarce water source - Knowledgebase Question

Hello. We are planning a garden project for our local elementary school's front lawn, but there is no direct water source. Do you have any suggestions for plants that might do well in this area? We plan on toting water cans 2-3 times a week until roots have been established. Thanks for your help.
