will a black tartarian cherry self polinate in my orchard.....San Fernando Valley, CA...Los Angeles Area...Mid Valley area, elevation about 300 at most. i had bought a stella cherry to go with it and had asked a question about it...it looks like it died, lost leaves and stop growing in the summer hear.....do i need to replace with a cherry tree to get fruit thanks |
Your Black Tartanian cherry will need a second sweet cherry tree for cross pollination. You can use Bing or Royal Ann. If you don't have room in your landscape for two full sized cherry trees, you might consider growing a semi-dwarf Bing or Royal Ann. Best wishes with your cherry trees. |
