| I recently purchased a cyclamen and it has been flowering well. I noticed that there appears to be several seed pods instead of flowers at the end of some stems. As a novice gardener, I'm wondering if other plants can be grown from these apparent pods and how one goes about doing this if it is possible. |
| What you've observed are the fruiting pedicels. They are growing seed capsules, and you can start new cyclamen plants by germinating the seeds. When the capsule bursts open the seed is ripe and can be planted. Soak the seeds for 24 hours, then plant in moistened seed-starting mix. Cover the seeds with 1/4 inch of soil (the seeds need dark to germinate), and leave in a cool place (55F - 60F) until they sprout.
