Jay,

Your question is fairly general and therefore difficult answers with specific advice. Your lawn can be fertilized for the final time in early October using a product with a 3-1-2 ratio of nutrients. Shrubs and trees don't need any particular care at this time of the year. It is usually a good idea to make sure the soil is mulched around them to protect the roots and deter winter weeds. Avoid pruning shrubs are trees now because this can just encourage a flush of new growth which will be more susceptible to cold damage when the first freeze arrives. Let us know if we can provide additional guidance and information. The more specific your question the more we can provide good specific assistance.
