I wanted to take cuttings from my forsynthia bush and propagate them with rooting powder. Would fall be a good time to try this or another season?

Forsythia can be rooted from cuttings taken almost any time of year -- if you have the right conditions for growing them on. You could also try layering if you want to have plants ready to go next spring but do not have a good way to shelter them in containers over the winter.

The following web pages give detailed instructions on how to do this. You may need to cut and paste the complete url into your browser to make it work correctly.

Good luck with your project!
