| I have a question concerning an Elephant Ear Palm i planted two weeks ago. With in the second day of planting the fronds started turning brown (quickly),i'm keeping the soil moist so i'm thinking i might have over fertilized the soil when i planted it. Can i cut the brown leaves off and replant this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
| Elephant palm (Kerriodoxa elegans) grows best in full to part shade in moist, well draining soil. Overfertilization or too much sunshine can cause browning of the leaves. I'd move the palm to a more protected place and cut away the dead fronds. Let's hope it recovers quickly so you can enjoy the beauty of your new palm! |
