I planted my tomato plant in fairly damp soil. The plant grew up to 6 inches high, and withered. Is it due to damp soil?

Tomato plants don't like wet feet, so try to find a drier spot for your tomato plants. If the soil is continually damp, plant your tomatoes in containers or in raised beds, and allow the soil to dry on the surface before applying additional water tothe plant.
