My tree is usually a deep red/purple, it was this spring. Why did my red japanese maple turn bronzey green this summer/fall? it is mature, perhaps 10 years old. Help?! Thanks for your time, Karen |
Some red maples naturally turn a bronzy green by summer's end. If this is the first time your tree has reacted in this way, the change is probably weather related. It is nothing to worry about. There's really no way to coax a red maple to change its color on que, but the amount of sunshine it receives plus the cooling temperatures of autumn can trigger all kinds of color changes. Enjoy your tree! |
