How do I go about taking care of a daisy in the winter? |
There are both annual a perennial types of daisies. The annuals will die down this winter and will need to be replaced in the spring; perennials will die down to ground level with the first hard frost. Cut away the stems and leaves when this happens. New growth will sprout from the crown of the plant in the spring. For added winter protection you can place a few inches of organic mulch over the top of the soil after you've cut back the tops of the plants. Best wishes with your daisies! |
