| I have some bulbs to plant i know its not too late to plant them but i wanna know if it is possible to plant them in pots.There's something more that i would like to know would you mind tellinf me where could i find information abaut how to create a green house by my self? Thanks a lot SIL |
| Bulbs can be planted in pots, but you will need to provide them with a chilling period. This can be done by storing the pots in a dark cool place such as an attached unheated garage where the temperatures will be below about 40 degrees but the soil in the pots will not freeze. Water just enough to keep the soil from going bone dry. I should mention it is so late in the season now that you probably would not be able to force them into bloom early by planting them in pots -- most of the bulbs that force well need several months of chilling. There are many different ways to do a home greenhouse ranging from using a kit to following building plans. The following web site does a good job of describing the differences between types of greenhouses with their advantages and disadvantages and suggests some ways to go about building one. What would work best for you will depend on what type of use you plan for it, your budget, and so on.
