The Q&A Archives: Crape Myrtle

Question: When is the best time of year to prune and move a crape myrtle?

Answer: Fall or winter are good times to move your crape myrtle. Since these trees produce flowers on the new wood of the season, you can prune in winter. New spring growth should flower and when the flowers are spent, prune a second time for a second flush of bloom during the summer months.
