I am getting brown tips on the leaves of my tomato plants. I am growing them in large pots and watering them every 2 -3 days. I keep the soil damp. Am I watering them to much? They have buds.

Annette,

It could be that you are watering the tomato plants too much if the soil is staying soggy wet. The brown tips may also be due to excessive fertilizer burning the roots or dry soil conditions which can also kill roots. Try to keep the soil moderately moist and they should pull out of it and be fine.
