| I need to know Which Grass seed would be best. I have a boxer/lab dog who loves running around the yard and 20 nieces and nephews who come over during the year and runn on the grass. I need something that will last but looks good all year round. I just planted winter rye last month. I live in El Monte, CA. The winter rye is doing okay but I have spots that didn't grow When should I start with new seed and what kind? |
| One of the most durable grasses in your area is Bermuda. You can seed it over the existing rye grass and it will remain green during the warmest months of the year. It will die out, though, in the winter months so you'll want to overseed with rye grass each October. By overseeding with rye, you'll have a green lawn all year around. |
