Linda,

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Staining pots can be done in a number of ways. There are several stains on the market that you can inquire about in the concrete section of your Home Depot store. These are typically mixed into concrete but could also be put in water I would think and then applied to the pot surface. Ask a store expert on this possibility.
There are other natural ways to stain a concrete pot. Iron stains concrete a rusty red. Iron fertilizers such as Ironite can be another option for doing a more mottled natural stain. Finally you could go to the paint section of the store and ask about paints for concrete. One thought is to water one down so that it soaks in rather than sits on the surface. They would also be able to direct you to an appropriate glaze product in their section of the store.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
