Trillium (Wake Robin) is a member of the lily family, grows in shade, and blooms in early spring. There's a whorl of three leaves at the top of each stem, and from the center of these springs a single flower. Trilliums grow from fleshy rhizomes, in shady, woodsy areas, and if left alone will multiply and naturalize an area. Plants need ample water, so never let the soil completely dry out.
