Answer: Most hostas grow best in full shade. There are exceptions, but full summer sunshine will make even the toughest hosta wilt. Try to find a fully shaded area, or at least one with only a few hours of morning sun and lots of afternoon shade. You can divide the hosta after you get it out of the ground. Use a sharp shovel or garden spade and cut it into several pieces - all pieces should have both roots and leaves attached. Then replant and water well. After they become established in their new homes you should see lots of new growth.
