The Q&A Archives: purple tree

Question: I was wondering what a purple tree form althea was and wanted to know more info on it

Answer: Michael,

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Althea is a popular tree or shrub in the South. If pruned up around the base can be trained in to a more "treelike" form. It's just another option and how to train this plant.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
