Some flowers for the summer sun include zinnias (including narrow leafed zinnia, Zinnia angustifolia), blackfoot daisy, Esperanza (Tecoma stans), Salvias (many good ones including Salvia greggii and Salvia 'Indigo Spires'), Ice Plant, Celosia and Scaevola.
