Last year I bought my first home. I live in the Central Midwest. There were a few things I wanted to get done in the house and the lawn was sacrificed for it. My neighbor told me the people we bought the house from didn't do anything to the law except cut when necessary. Now I am trying to revive my lawn and I'm curious where to start. I had the lawn aerated last week and I bought some starter/fertilizer to spread this week. Any other suggestions? Also, what else do I need to do to start building the base for a better lawn next year? |
It sounds as though you are doing everything right! A thick, lush lawn will crowd out weeds so your goal is to water and mow regularly and to feed in April, June and September. Home Depot generally has the correct fertilizer formulation on sale at just the right time to apply in your gardening area. Just watch for the sales. Best wishes on your new landscape! |
