i want to plant begonias in an island under a japanese maple tree...some plants will get full sun; others will get part sun...someone in HD's garden shop told me that full sun will lighten the leaves of the plants...true or false? also some of the plants that i bought have dark purplish leaves...others have a medium green leaf...will these med. green leaves turn to the darker shade?

Dianne,

The shades won't change. However the burgundy foliaged ones will take lots of sun better than the green foliaged ones. Keep them adequately watered but not soggy wet.
