can i keep a bulb that i rooted in water and then put in a pot with dirt so that it comes up again next year.
it was in full bloom when i first planted it and has since died off but i want it to come up next year in the same pot

I'd go ahead and pot it up. It will remain dormant all summer long but next winter it should produce roots and next spring it should grow. Best wishes with your project!
