I have a space on the south by east side of my house which is between my neighbor's house and my Bradfords' which are between 30-38 years old (yes, I know they split easily but they are next to the gargage (sp. sorry) wall and are fine. I also have 3 dwarf fruit trees there also and a pin oak tree. As my neighbor has removed the trees next to her house which was shading my woodland and my lovely hostas. I am trying to think of a tree other than crabapples that would fit a space between 15-20 feet wide and 15-20 feet tall with privacy at the top. Hopefully, you can help me.

Have you considered redbud? These trees bloom in the spring and produce attractive foliage for summer shade. They remain small enough to fit in the space you describe.
