Nasturtiums are said to act as a trap crop for aphids, and garlic and chives are said to repel them. You can also control them by knocking them off with a strong spray of water from the garden hose or with insecticidal soap applied according to the label instructions. You will also find that ladybugs will help control aphids. If you have lots of different types of flowers blooming all summer long, you'll attract the beneficial insects such as ladybugs. Give it a try this year.

Best wishes with your garden!
