The Q&A Archives: wilted pansies

Question: this is my first time TRYING to grow a garden.. i planted some pansies about 4 weeks ago and one by one they are dying. how should i be taking care of them in part sun/ shade in sand soil and how often should i water them? please help.

Answer: For the most part, pansies are cool season plants (they thrive under the cooler conditions of late fall, winter and early spring). They will grow in either full sun or shade but will begin to die down when temperatures start to rise. If you love pansies, plant them in the fall and enjoy them until late spring, then pull them out of the garden and replace with something else. Pansies grow best when watered every 3-4 days if they're planted in sandy soil.

Enjoy your new garden!
