There is still snow on Peavine Mountain. What can I plant in my barrels?

Brrr.. Spring can't be too far away! Some of the plants that grow well in your Reno gardening region include:
Achillea
Aubrieta
California Poppies
Campanulas
Creeping Thymes
Elfin Thyme
Emerald Blue Phylox
Euphorbias
Gaura
Iberis
Hostas
Mat Daisy
Lamiums
Little Plum Lewisa
Low Poppy Mallow
Potentilla
Snow in Summer
Tanager Gazania
Tiny Rubies Dianthus

Since it's still cold, start with some cold tolerant annuals and perennials such as snapdragons, stock, pansies, primroses and alyssum. Then add some of the above perennials.
