I live in Sarasota, Florida and my dogs are inside dogs, but when they go outside they get bit. What can I put down on the lawn to get rid of these bitting bugs. One of my dogs likes to eat grass even when she is not sick. Will it harm her?

Without knowing what insect pest you're dealing with, I'm at a loss to recommend a control measure. It's especially important to use the right control when you have pets. Try to capture a few of these pesky bugs so they can be identified (either at your local cooperative extension office, Master Gardener Clinic, or even at a well staffed nursery. Once you know what you're dealing with, I'm sure you'll have several options for control.
