| Mexican Honeysuckle is Justicia spicigera, an evergreen herbaceous shrub with a rounded shape, 3 to 5 feet tall and 4 to 6 feet wide. It is native to Mexico and hardy to 24?F. It recovers nicely if frozen to the ground (which sometimes happens in Tucson). It grows in full sun to light shade, and tolerates some reflected heat. It needs little to moderate water; I water weekly during the summer in my Phoenix garden. Don't feed the plant and do plan on pruning it in late winter to keep it from getting too leggy.
