I just moved to a house that has 3 nice big palm trees in front and I wanted to know how often do I have to water them? Also, do you have to prune them every year? I know there are different types of palm trees, I don't know what type these are. Thank you.

Sylvia,

It is difficult to say how often to water the palms. It depends on temperature, soil type and rainfall. A good soaking every week or two should suffice to keep them healthy in the absence of rainfall. You only want to prune off the dead fronds at the base of the green clump on the trunk.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
