Some shrubs are not particularly choosey about their exposure to sunlight or their livability in shade. Here are a few to consider:

Glossy abelia (Abelia grandiflora 'Edward Goucher')
Barberry (Berberis thunbergii vars.); Wintergreen barberry (Berberis julianae)
Mountain laurel (Kalmia latifolia vars.)
Japanese rose (Kerria japonica)
Beautybush (Kolkwitzia amabilis)
Spirea (Spiraea spp.)
Viburnum spp.

Hope one of these suggestions appeals to you!
