The Q&A Archives: carrots

Question: I would like to plant carrots in my garden. How deep does my soil need to be?

Answer: The depth of soil your carrots will need depends upon the type of carrots you're growing. Some grow only 4" long; others grow up to 10" long. Just to be on the safe side, soil should be loose to a depth of 12" or more to allow for good root development.
