Several yrs ago I saw beautiful lupines growing in the Banner Elk area of western NC. Having just purchased a townhouse in Bristol, Va, I would love to plant some lupines in a bed beside my home. Will lupines flourish in the Tri-Cities area?

There are over 200 species of lupines and they can be found growing from Alaska to Chile, so they will grow well in your Virginia garden. If you can't find plants in your garden center you can start your own plants from seed. They will bloom the second year after sowing. Enjoy!
