| I planted 3 Princess trees last year. They each grew quickly with the classic large leaves. That Fall they shed all of their leaves. They never grew any branches which is normal for young Princess trees, but this year they have refussed to bud. They are alive as the trunks are green. They just look like giant sticks in my yard. Why have they not budded? If they do when can I expect to see some branches form. This is the first year I have grown this type of tree. |
| I've grown princess trees from seed so I know that they are slow at first, but then grow rapidly. Branch development usually comes at 4 years of age and flowering at 7. Leafing and flowering is dependent upon weather. As soon as your tree feels the soil and air are warm enough, it will wake up from its winter nap and begin to leaf out. Be patient with it - in a few years you'll be rewarded with fantastic blossoms. Enjoy! |
