The Q&A Archives: tulip bulbs

Question: while cleaning up my open porch after winter, i found a package of tulip bulbs i forgot to plant in the fall. i put them in the refrigerator so they would be cool. should i plant them now...or wait for fall.
thanks for your help.

Answer: If they were on your porch, I suspect they have already received the cooling they require. Go ahead and plant them now, then mark the spots where you plant them. They may come up immediately or they may wait until next spring. In either case, they will have a better chance of surviving if they're in the ground rather than in your refrigerator.

Best of luck with your tulips!
