| Except in the desert southwest, Alstroemerias love sun. They also need well draining soil because they need lots of water. Feed your plants during the growing season and keep them watered regularly. If you let your plants go too dry the foliage will turn an ugly yellow and look terrible. Your Alstroemeria should bloom most of the spring and summer. It's important to cut the flowers and flowering stem off when they're spent. If you don't, your plant will put its energy into producing seeds rather than developing new flowers.
