I am growing my first tray of zinnias from seed. They germinated and grew into sturdy seedlings which I am now hardening off over a week's time. For some reason, the lower leaves have turned brown and several of the higher leaves are starting to brown and curl. What is happening? Will getting them into the ground save them? Michele |
If they were healthy prior to being set outdoors in a protected area, I suspect that the air is drier than they experienced before. As soon as you get them into the ground, they should be fine. The new leaves your seedlings develop will be more tolerant of the sunshine and air temperatures. Best wishes with your zinnias! |
