We just moved into our home and it came pre-sodded. Its been growning for about 2 months. The ground is very uneven and the grass doesnt seem to be doing much, and i have patches of yellow. What do i need to do on a new lawn to get it to take off and start looking decent? Ive put down some Scotts Summer Gaurd and herd good things about Vigoro but i dont want to rush anything and kill the whole lawn.

Eric,

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you.

The main thing you need to be doing is providing adequate soil moisture for the turf. This means a good soaking about once every five to seven days. A little fertilizer in spring and fall is usually adequate. In the meantime mow the turf regularly at a fairly high setting promote deep rooting and thickness of the grass.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
