I have pole lima beans growing like mad on several home made vegetable cages. There are large pods on the plants, however there are no lima beans in the pods. This happened with my fall crop also. What can I do to get lima beans?

If there are no beans in the pods, the flowers were not polliated. This can happen if there's no insect activity due to weather or due to insecticides being used in the yard. You can try to attract bees to your garden by adding some flowers near your beans. Something bright and fragrant sends messages to insects quite a ways away.

Best wishes with your garden!
