| I saw some cool looking plants at the Silverdale, Wa. Home Depot so I bought a few. The stated cold hardiness was -30 to -40 degrees. I thinking I'm good to go. Not until I get home do I realize what they were. Caladium |
| Candidum has snow white leaves marked with deep green ribs, veins, and narrow border trim but it is not hardy to -30 degrees - more like 30-40 degrees. If temps are lower than that, you can dig the bulbs and store them until springtime, then replant them in your garden. I'm afraid there are no caladiums hardy to the Pacific Northwest so growing as a houseplant during the winter months or digging them up and storing them for the winter are about the only ways you can have caladiums in your garden year after year.
