I am going to have a water condition or water softer put in my house. Is it going to hurt my plants? I was told by a friend that the salt would kill my plants. Thanks Rose

Plants don't really care whether the water is soft or hard so I don't think your friend is correct. However, it is rather wasteful from an economic standpoint to treat the water prior to using it in your landscape. You might check with the installer - typically they leave one outside spigot untreated so you're not wasting the softened water on your landscape.
