There are a number of ways to control slugs. Sprinkling diatomaceous earth on the soil around the plants, setting out traps baited with beer, or using one of the newer less toxic slug products such as Sluggo or Escargo should do it. You can also handpick them at night when they are active -- simply drop them into soapy, salty water. Or, prop up a few terra cotta pots in your garden; slugs crawl in at night and you can scrape them out in the morning. Best wishes with your garden! |
