I just purchase a new construction in Albrightsville, PA and in desperate need for grass;-)The ground has small to medium size rocks and hard soil. Is there a particular grass seed you would recommend for this region or for start? What do I need to get started ? Fertilizer, top soil, grass seed ? I am clueless but I can't afford to pay a professional. Thanks so much.

Some of the best grasses for your gardening region are Kentucky bluegrass,
Chewings fescue, Creeping red fescue and Perennial ryegrass. Preparing the soil properly prior to planting will reward you for years to come. The first step is to remove all vegetation and fist-sized rocks. The rest will work their way down into the soil after your turfgrass is established and you start walking on it and watering regularly

I found a terrific website sponsored by Penn State that offers a dozen or so publications on turfgrass establishment and management. I think it's a site that will be helpful to you and you can download the publications and print them off for future reference. http://turfgrassmanagement.psu...

Best wishes with your lawn!
