What can I use to fill in uneven areas of my lawn. The worst areas are around the driveway and front walkway. I can tell you we do have a french drain on the side of our home. We have been in our new home for over 5 years and have used a lawn maintenance service but still our yard is now growing, instead it appears to be sinking in some areas? The grass appears healthy just not growing tall enough to even make a nice edge. Pleas help! Thank you, Dawn (Jacksonville / St Augustine FL ) |
Dawn, I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you. It is generally best to use a light textured soil next for filling in low areas this would mean us a sand or sandy loam soil. If you only apply an inch or so each time the grass will grow up through it fairly quickly. Avoid using compost only, or heavy clay soils when you are filling in low areas. Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon! |
