I have spent quite a bit of money on plants - only to have the roots eaten out from under them. What can I do to get rid of them? My plants look beautiful for a short time and then . . . It is a big problem here in Kosciusko, MS. |
Moles and voles can be real pests in the garden. You might be able to protect the roots of your plants if you line the holes with hardware cloth prior to planting. This works well for annuals, but not for trees and shrubs. If everything is being attacked, your only method of control would be traps. The most effective control for voles are simple mouse traps, baited with peanut butter and/or bacon. Moles require a scissors type trap set in the main run and set as many times as necessary to reduce the entire population. Best wishes with your garden! |
